Mike and his wife, Kim, have four children and one grandson and are involved in several local charities including Meals on Wheels and Guzman 23 Foundation. Mike is an original Board member of Kids Matter and is a college baseball and football fan that loves to travel and ride ATVs. He has a strong passion for giving back to the community and believes in the work that Kids Matter is doing to empower children and enhance their lives. As the current Chairman of the Board of Directors, he is looking forward to the spearheading the initiatives that Kids Matter has to reach more children in need in 2016.

Bill graduated from Texas Tech University in 1977 with a B.S. in Microbiology. He began his professional career with Johnson & Johnson as a Microbiologist and eventually Maintenance and Engineering Manager. In 1982, he became associated with Clayton, W. Williams, Jr. in a development that included the ClayDesta Center. He served as General Manager for the ClayDesta Corporation and then Bill went on to found Southwest Commercial Investments, Inc. (SCI) in 1988. SCI exclusively represented First American Bank, First Gibraltar, FSB, Bank One, and Chase Bank in their disposition of assets in the West Texas markets of Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, Odesssa, and San Angelo. In May of 2003 Bill became a partner and 40% owner and co-managing partner for BBL Falcon Industries, LLC. BBL was just recently sold to CARBO Ceramics Inc. (NYSE: CRR) and closed on October 2, 2009. In July of 2003 Bill relocated to Southlake, Texas and became Senior Vice President for Synergy Properties in Fort Worth.

Bill dedicates his time and resources to Kids Matter because they make a large impact in the lives of children in our local communities. He is married to Rexanna and together they have two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth and Taylor.

Julie has served on the Kids Matter Board of Directors since 2014 and has always had a passion for giving back. Previous to her time at Kids Matter, she has served the following organizations: Endowment Sponsor for Grapevine Colleyville Education Foundation, Local PTA 2013-2015, Council of PTA 2015-2016, LEAD 2021, YEA Mentor & Sponsor, Grapevine Chamber of Commerce since 2008, Burke Center, Head Start, North Place Nursing Home, Chi Omega Chair Career Development, Nacogdoches Human Resources, Miracle League of Southlake Supporter, Texas A&M Endowment, and a volunteer at Compass Church.

Julie says “the simple ability to show a child compassion and foster their desire to succeed has been a lifelong passion for me. Kids Matter allows ample opportunity for me to assist children financially, emotionally, by example, nutritionally, and academically. With success comes not just an obligation but a passion to help others in moments when success may seem impossible.”

She enjoys getting up at 4am to sweat it out at Camp Gladiator and while Julie is an SFA graduate, her husband’s dedication to A&M is obvious in their household.

Marti Conner brings over 30 years experience in strategic planning, marketing, and public relations working at an executive level with some of the largest non-profit healthcare organizations in the metroplex to include Baylor Health Care System and Cook Children’s Health Care System. She has been intimately involved with Kids Matter for over 6 years as an alternate board member, in addition to Chairing the Marketing Committee and various fund raising activities for Kids Matter.

Marti has served on a number of non-profit boards to include Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, First Friday Women’s, Project Hand-Up, Fort Worth Children’s Advocacy Center, and the Arthritis Foundation.

Erin cherishes the close-knit relationship she shares with her family in FL and KY. She also enjoys the family-like relationships she shares with her close friends and colleagues in Texas and beyond.

Erin has been involved with community and charity events throughout her time in Dallas. She has served as Board Member for Kids Matter since 2014, served as a Chairperson for the Coalition to End Crimes Against Children, Secretary on the Child Abuse Prevention Committee, Young Alumni Coordinator for the ND Club of Dallas and as a Religious Catechist at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Erin enjoys serving alongside the spectrum of talents present on the board; she considers sharing her passion of children’s advocacy among the board and KMI affiliates truly a privilege. Erin believes that without intervention, children in poor conditions will remain and suffer detrimental long term consequences and that their future affects the community at large.

Erin currently works in the Centerfield Office suites at Texas Rangers’ Stadium and loves to host Kids Matter affiliates as they cheer on the Rangers.

With over 23 years of experience, Troy has had a lifelong passion for helping people find their next home. As a life-long resident of DFW, he has established personal relationships with many builders and craftsman in the DFW area and his career long relationships with other top producing agents in the area, has given him unique advantage in the real estate marketplace. As an award winning agent in Dallas Ft. Worth he continues to build his skills and lead an office of 20 licensed agents.

Troy’s passion for serving the community is expanded with the work he does as a Board Member for Kids Matter. He is an advocate for the kids and committed to their mission of helping children in need.

While playing for the Dallas Cowboys, Michael realized the importance of giving back. In 1998, he and his wife, Kim began volunteering and sponsoring a clothing program that focused on clothing children in need. This clothing program has evolved into Kids Matter’s Annual “Around the Block” event and is his family’s favorite as it really brings the community together. Since retiring from a 11 year professional sport career, Michael now considers himself an entrepreneur where he involves himself in different businesses ventures. He has served Kids Matter since inception as a Vice Chairman/Director through 2014 and continues to serve as a Director and Co-chair for Around the Block. Michael and Kim have a daughter, Micayla, and they reside in Southlake, Texas.

Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for Healthia Medical Solutions, a broker of ancillary medical services and Infinity Resources, a broker for commercial and residential essential services.

He has been a business owner for the past 25 yrs and is no stranger to serving the community with a heart and passion for helping others.

Over the past 15 years Jaime has been a catalyst in creating an environment of opportunities with local businessmen, creating profit channels and redirecting a continuous portion of proceeds towards charities/non-profit. His efforts have provided assistance to many NPO’s such as:

Food for the Soul in Keller, Emergency Food banks, HIKIDZ in FW, Inner city program leadership programs for high risk children. Rocky Top in Keller, Horse therapy program for children involved in trauma. Grace Community Outreach in Grapevine serving battered women and disadvantaged children programs.

Additionally, Jaime has served as ambassador for several chambers in the DFW area and volunteered for many other ministries and programs.

Empowerment, Service and promoting others to serve is a way for him to show gratitude for God’s blessing in his life since bringing him out of a homeless life 30 yrs ago. Jaime currently resides in Keller and has been blessed with 4 children and 8 grandchildren.

Mimi Tran is a Private Banker for Frost Bank.

She and her husband (Trung – who is a pediatrician) have lived in Southlake for over 15 years. They have two children attending UT Austin.

Mimi has been active in the community serving on numerous boards including: Southlake Women’s Club; Carroll Education Foundation – past president; Irving Healthcare Foundation – Finance Chair; Community Enrichment Center Big Brother/Big Sister mentor, and several different boards when her kids were attending Carroll ISD.

She is an avid tennis player and loves to donate her time to the community.

Ron is an Entrepreneur with 25 years of experience in bringing innovative products to the marketplace. His background includes work in advanced wound care, cosmetic and OTC drugs, environmental products, and most recently, nutraceuticals. His experiences in all aspects of launching companies and products will be used to help position the exciting programs and messages to the supporters and clients of Kids Matter.
