Kids Matter is a local 501c3 nonprofit that was formed in 2006. We are dedicated to helping children in need through programs that empower them and enhance their lives. This is all possible through partners, donors, volunteers, and the many Friends of Kids Matter.
The children we serve are located throughout DFW but particularly they are from the H-E-B area and Grapevine. We would like to expand to impact more children in both Dallas and Fort Worth.
Around the Block, a clothing event for nearly 1,300 children, a reading program with Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation and affiliations with other local nonprofits with our same mission of helping children in need.
Around the Block, our largest event is held in November in Southlake and Fort Worth. Our Charity Ball is held on Friday in February, Ramp-Up Reading is held around the beginning of school.
Through private donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, and various fundraising events that are held throughout the year.

Kids Matter is governed by a 15 member volunteer Board of Directors. A professional team of 3 manages the day-to-day operations, which includes Marti Conner as the President and CEO.
We made the decision to focus our efforts more locally when we realized that there were so many disadvantaged children in our own backyard. While we still have an orphanage in India, 98% of our funds support local programs. We support children specifically because we know that they are our future whom we must invest in.
We always need volunteers for our Around the Block event which you can sign up for online. If you are looking for other opportunities, contact our office and they can assist you with other volunteer opportunities with our organization. You can donate online on our new website, www.kidsmatterinternational.org. and keep an eye out for emails telling you when special giving days are that will enhance your gift!
