Are you ready to light up the faces of children again this year? The joyous season of giving to the children of North Texas is almost here!
Around-The-Block is Kids Matter’s largest local program that serves thousands of underprivileged children in North Texas each November. In 2014, with the help of over 400 volunteers, this one-night event provided new clothing and essential supplies to 1,272 children. With help from our partners – Kohl’s, The Barbara Bush Foundation For Family Literacy, Buckner International and The Ryan Palmer Foundation, the children also receive new shoes, backpacks, and books to complement their new wardrobes. The Around-The-Block program has clothed over 5,500 children since 2007 and continues to grow steadily each year. By providing new clothing for these children, they gain confidence in knowing they are deserving of the very best and that people outside their own families care about their well-being. The smiles and tears of joy on their faces makes this event one of the most rewarding of the year for our volunteers and partners.
We will be clothing over 1,200 children at the Kids Matter Around the Block events this year! This means we need YOU and over 500 volunteers. Please let your friends, colleagues, and family know about this event. We are excited to have online registration for our volunteer shoppers again this year.
